Community Guidelines
Contributing responsibly to build South Africa's most trusted transport platform
Together we empower commuters through reliable information
Our Shared Mission
Renke exists to empower South African commuters through accurate, accessible transport information. Every contribution you make helps millions of people make better travel decisions and supports the growth of our transport ecosystem.
These guidelines help ensure that our community maintains the highest standards of data quality, respectful interaction, and shared commitment to improving transport accessibility for everyone.
Core Principles
These principles guide everything we do as a community
Accuracy First
Share only information you've personally verified or experienced. Accurate data helps travelers make safe, informed decisions and builds trust in our platform.
Community Respect
Treat fellow contributors, transport operators, and all community members with respect. We're all working together to improve transport for everyone.
Continuous Improvement
Transport information changes constantly. Help keep data current by updating information when you notice changes and reporting outdated details.
Transparency
Be clear about the source and recency of your information. If you're unsure about details, mention that in your contribution to help moderators verify.
Data Reliability Standards
Personal Experience Required
Only share information about routes you've personally used or taxi ranks you've visited. First-hand experience ensures accuracy.
Current Information Only
Share recent information (within the last 3 months). Transport details change frequently, so recency matters.
Specific Details
Include specific taxi rank names, landmark references, and clear route descriptions that other travelers can easily follow.
Accurate Pricing
Report exact fares you've paid, including any variations for different times or conditions. Note if prices vary by operator.
Contribution Examples
Learn from these examples of good and poor contribution practices
Good Practices
Route Contribution
"Johannesburg CBD to Soweto via Bree Street Taxi Rank. Fare: R15 (paid yesterday). Taxis leave when full, approximately every 10-15 minutes during peak hours. Look for 'Soweto' signs at rank."
Issue Report
"Fare from Pretoria to Centurion has increased from R12 to R15. Confirmed with multiple operators at Bosman Station on [date]. All operators now charging R15."
Poor Practices
Vague Information
"There's a taxi from town to the township. Not sure about the price but it's cheap. Leaves from somewhere near the station."
❌ Too vague, no specific details
Outdated Information
"My friend told me the fare was R10 last year. I think it might still be the same."
❌ Outdated, unverified information
Respectful Interaction
